Green Room | Planetary Boundaries Series

Watch the replay of our “Green Room | How to transform the plastic value chain?” webinar.

The ecological cost of plastic waste is well understood, but what about the myriad of possibilities that it offers?

In making the plastic industry sustainable, innovations in production and recycling often grab the headlines, but with investment in infrastructure too, there is a tremendous opportunity for turning plastic waste into a resource, as regulation, consumers and large corporates have woken up to the challenge. Transitioning to a circular model for plastic is not just nature-positive, it represents a USD 1.2 trillion global economic opportunity by 20401. A new plastics value chain is emerging. It includes novel plastic materials, new ways of using and re-using plastic, and improved collection, sorting and recycling capabilities.

In the second episode of LOIM’s Planetary Boundaries webinar series Michael Urban, Chief Sustainability Strategist, talked to Victoire Carous, Co-lead PM of LOIM's Plastic Circularity Strategy and other guest speakers about the scalable solutions that will contribute to the global transition towards a lower carbon footprint circular economy for the plastic value chain.
